Unlike traditional logistics warehouses, the zero-carbon logistics facility in Xiamen Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Zone offers full carbon traceability for every item stored — from large cargo shipments down to individual pairs of shoes.
As China's first carbon-neutral integrated bonded zone, its commitment to energy conservation and emissions reduction has been a major driver of growth. By the end of January 2026, the zone had generated 29.04 million kWh of clean electricity, saving approximately 9,600 metric tons of standard coal and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by about 23,900 tons.
Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–2025), 77.9 percent of Xiamen Port's berths have been equipped with shore power. Last year, 28,670 vessels used shore power while docked, and more than 60 percent of port machinery now runs on new energy. The port has also entered an elite group of Chinese ports by completing its first ship-to-ship bonded LNG bunkering for international vessels.

Six terminals of Xiamen Port have earned four-star "China Green Port" status, while Hairun Terminal has been named a four-star "Smart Port". All container terminals in the port area hold "Asia-Pacific Green Port" certification, and Xiamen's western waters have been recognized as a national example of beautiful bays.
Green and low-carbon development has spurred coordinated growth across upstream and downstream industries, including port and shipping equipment manufacturing, logistics services, and digital technologies.
