Innovative waste management systems ensure efficient clean-up, a model now promoted nationwide. Additionally, Xiamen's efforts in sewage management have positioned Siming District, where the coastal area is administered, as a leader in water pollution control.

The fusion of natural beauty and strategic development has turned Xiamen into a hub for tourism and the film industry. The area, known for China's Most Romantic Wedding-Photo Village, attracts countless visitors, boosting local businesses. According to Chen Xuehui, a local guesthouse owner, occupancy rates remain high, with bookings often required a month in advance.
In recent years, nearly 500 film crews have chosen Xiamen as a filming location due to its diverse scenery, cementing its status as a "film capital". Siming district is home to hundreds of film companies, and in the first three quarters of 2025, its cultural industries generated over 109 billion yuan ($16 billion) in revenue, underscoring the district's economic vitality, driven in part by its pristine coastal environment.
