The "Wenyao" large model, developed by CrowdDigital Technology in collaboration with Xiamen University of Technology and Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Company, has become a new engine to drive the development of the marine economy in Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian province.
This innovative model, which integrates scattered marine data into a comprehensive "ocean brain", has achieved significant breakthroughs in ship design, equipment maintenance, maritime supervision, and administrative services since its inception in November 2024.
Wang Zhong, co-founder and product director of CrowdDigital Technology, said the model is now used by the Fujian Maritime Safety Administration and 80 enterprises, including and China Yangtze Shipping Group.
It has streamlined processes such as intelligent port entry approvals and hazardous materials declarations, Wang said, adding the model is characterized by being faster, more accurate, and greener than its peers.
The model's efficiency is evident in ship design, reducing concept design time from months to just 30 seconds, and in maintenance, where predictive capabilities significantly cut costs, according to Wang. The administrative services have seen a 57 percent increase in efficiency, he said.
Wang highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry, saying CrowdDigital Technology is striving to work with Xiamen University of Technology to overcome challenges like data scarcity and fragmented applications.
"Wenyao" is set to further drive the high-quality development of the marine economy in Xiamen, promising a vibrant future for the city's ocean-related sectors, he said.
