In observance of the 18th World Oceans Day and the 19th National Ocean Awareness Day on June 8, Xiamen hosted a total of 13 public science and culture events.
As a key supporting event, the Xiamen Bay Marine Biodiversity Co-Creation Public Charity Fair, titled "Xiatanwei Mangroves and their Friends", was held from June 6 to 8 at Xiamen Xiatanwei Mangrove Park and featured five themed areas open for free: a check-in area, an interactive science fair, a marine biodiversity photo exhibition, a science book exhibition, and an exhibition of works from Global Natural History Day.

About 40 people attended the public charity fair, including representatives from international organizations, university delegates, and global experts in marine science, ecology, and environmental protection.
International students explored the fair's five themed zones, learning about mangrove restoration, intertidal biodiversity, and the importance of stock enhancement through bilingual explanations from volunteers.
The launch ceremony of the public charity fair and the Xiatanwei Mangrove World Oceans Day Series Activities took place at Xiamen Xiatanwei Mangrove Park on June 6. That afternoon, a stock enhancement activity was held. With the participation of guests and residents, batches of juvenile fish were released into the sea. According to the plan, a total of 250,000 juvenile fish have been released at the park from June 6 to 8.

In addition, a joint stock enhancement operation was conducted in the Xiamen–Kinmen Sea area where Xiamen released 5 million juvenile fish, and Kinmen released 200,000.
This year marks the 24th year of stock enhancement activities in Xiamen. As key measures to restore the structure of fishery populations, these efforts continue to contribute to protecting marine biodiversity and improving the aquatic ecological environment.
